Attorney, former state lawmaker Ken Fuller out on bond on a terroristic threats charge following dust-up outside Rome Municipal Court

A courtroom dispute over a cat running at large led to tempers flaring Wednesday and a Rome attorney and former state lawmaker under arrest for a felony ? making terroristic threats.Kenneth Fuller, 69, of 107 Greenview Road, was released from jail on $5,700 bond on the condition that he have no contact with the woman he is accused of threatening, according to Floyd County Jail officials.
According to a Rome police report:
Fuller, a former state representative and state senator, was in Rome Municipal Court representing his daughter, who was accused of letting her cat run loose in the city.?
When his daughter lost the case, Fuller cursed at the other party in the court case just outside of the courtroom and said, ?You have not seen the last of me. I am going to make your life miserable.?
The statement was made in front of Rome police officers and an animal control officer in the secured area of the court.
The officers took Fuller back before Judge David Smith, who issued a warning to Fuller after a contempt of court hearing.
During the hearing, Fuller admitted to Smith he was ?out of line and his actions were completely inappropriate.?
Fuller apologized to the other party, the officers and the court.?
Rome police arrested him after the victim told police she wanted to press charges.
According to Jason Broome, director of Floyd County Animal Control, $135 is the standard fine for an animal running loose charge.
According to the website for his law firm, Fuller served as a member of the Georgia House of Representatives from 1978 until 1981. He was a member of the Georgia State Senate from 1988 to until 1990.
He could not be reached for comment Wednesday.
