Following the state Gaming Control Board?s unanimous approval of recommendations for foreign and domestic operators, 888 Holdings of Gibraltar and Las Vegas-based Treasure Island entered the picture.
?888 Holdings intends to collaborate with Treasure Island, as well as WMS Gaming and Caesars Entertainment, to offer online poker using its technology and experience in the European market,? the report reads.
If approved by the Nevada Gaming Commission at its March 21 meeting, 888 Holdings and Treasure Island would be the 20th and 21st companies to receive interactive gaming licenses in the state.
The latest entrants to the online gaming scene certainly won?t be the last. After Gov. Brian Sandoval backed legislation that changes Nevada?s interactive gaming landscape, the gates of opportunity were opened and companies are piling in with haste.
?This is a historic day,? Sandoval said February 21st, before signing the law into effect. ?This is the day we usher Nevada into the next frontier of gaming.?
